Daddy Date

At the beginning of the year Jason and I sat down and talked about our hopes to be intentional with our kids and with each other.  This meant a goal of a date night with Charlotte and one by ourselves once a month.  The first implementation of this happened the first Tuesday of the month when Charlotte and Jason headed out for yogurt after dinner.

We were sitting at dinner and Charlotte asked if she was going to take a bath that night and Jason told her that no, she wasn't going to take a bath, but that they were going to get yogurt! (He possibly said ice cream since that's what she knows.)  You should have seen her face!  She got the most excited grin on her face and threw herself backwards in her shocked position.  It was hilarious and so much fun!

So after dinner was over they headed out to get yogurt.  All I know about their date was that they had so much and Charlotte is still talking about how much fun it was.

This is Charlotte's cup.  Vanilla yogurt, sprinkles, mini marshmellow's, mini m&m's, and gummy worms.  Jason said that she ate all but maybe a quarter sized amount of it!

I hate that this picture is blurry but you can tell that she was excited!

I know that this is the first of many Daddy Date's in the future.  I pray that Charlotte will look at her Daddy's model of love when she's looking for a man to date and one day marry.  He is a great man and she deserves to be with someone just as wonderful as he is.  We love you Charlotte and are, even now, praying for God's will over that special man who will one day enter your life.  In the meantime, we hope that you will cherish the love with your Daddy and enjoy the time where he is the only man in your life!
