"Recovery" Day

We built in Tuesday as a "Recovery" Day for Charlotte with the idea that she would take at least two naps in her crib at the hotel that day to try and get her back on a working schedule and let her catch up on her sleep.  That was our plan and we stuck to it but we managed to sqeeze a lot of fun activities in while she was awake during the day!

After nap number 1 we went to Balboa Island to each lunch and do a little shopping.

Puffs were definitely our friend on this trip and they kept Charlotte very occupied!  Here she is reaching for one at lunch.

Balboa Island was full of these beautiful, unique houses built right up next to each other.  I wish we had taken some pictures of the houses because each one was different.  Some were like little English cottages and some were retro 70's homes.  It was so funny to see each house have its own personality!  The water surrounding the island was beautiful and it was nice to get a little walk in around the waterfront.

We got home in time for nap number 2.  After that nap we haded to Crystal Cove State Park to go see the beach.  Jason had never see the Pacific Ocean before so it was fun to get to see him enjoy it.  And we loved taking Charlotte to the beach for the first time, even though she didn't touch the water or sand!  It was beautiful and I loved just walking around the beach for a few minutes.

One of my favorite pictures and it was taken with my iPhone!

From the steep, scary walk down to the beach.  I was afraid I was going to slip and roll to my death down the incline!

I love this picture because I think it's hilarious!

After the beach we went to Fashion Island and shopped some more and ate dinner at California Pizza Kitchen.  Charlotte was the big winner of all of the shopping, but Jason and I managed to find some great things at Martin + Osa. I wish we had one here because it had great clothes!  After dinner we headed back to the hotel to let Charlotte play on the bed some more and then go to sleep so that she could see Memma, Papa G, and Uncle Charlie the next day!
