Adventures in Hollywood!

On Wednesday, we drove up from our hotel in Newport Beach to Hollywood.  I'm not sure that I have ever been so thankful for a Christmas present as I was on that day thankful that my parents got Jason a Garmin for Christmas.  Otherwise, I'm pretty sure we would have ended up in the ghetto of LA and that's not somewhere that I want to take Charlotte!  We left right as Charlotte's morning nap was supposed to start with hopes of her taking that nap in the car on the ride up to LA and she did sleep until we got into some pretty thick bumper to bumper traffic.  We only had a few hours because we wanted to be home around 3ish to see my parents and brother who were getting in and also to allow Charlotte some normal play time for the day.  Because of that we had a set plan for what we wanted to do.  Our goals were to see the Walk of Fame and then go to Rodeo Drive and shop.

We made it to the Walk of Fame and ate at the Disney Soda Shoppe.  Since we were in a time crunch we knew that it would be pretty quick and the menu looked fine.  The food was good and we enjoyed having a peaceful meal.

Charlotte enjoyed more Puffs!  By the end of the week her ability to see a puff, reach and pick it up and immediately put it in her mouth was unbelievable!  She also got her first small, tiny, pieces of bread this week also! Anything to keep her happy!

After lunch we went and did a little sightseeing!

In front of the Kodak Theater.  The whole street was full of fans for the game.  We saw more Alabama fans than Texas fans.  In order to get this picture we saw an Alabama fan and said, "Roll Tide! Would you mind taking our picture?" :)

I searched for someone "worthy" of us having our picture taken with.  I determined that Natalie Wood probably made the cut!

After our mini tour of downtown we drove down to Rodeo Drive with the intention of stopping to shop.  But Charlotte fell asleep on our way there so we decided to just drive by instead.

We then headed back to the hotel to meet up with the rest of my family.  The rest of the afternoon we enjoyed spending some time with my parents since Charlie went to the Lakers game.  We walked around the boardwalk on the bay in front of our hotel and saw some beautiful, huge boats!  For dinner we went to a great restaurant called the Rusty Pelican.  It was a little nicer than I anticipated and thus not a perfect place for Charlotte but she behaved perfectly and we enjoyed our dinner out.  We made sure to get to bed on time so that we could be as rested for Thursday as possible!
