Party of Three

We had one last weekend to spend just the three of us and we took full advantage of it.  Jason got home on Friday afternoon and we had a fun dinner together.  Then for the rest of the weekend we tried to do some of Charlotte's favorite things.  This included making Monkey Muffins with Daddy on Saturday morning and then watching the start of the Alabama football game together.

We spent the afternoon and evening watching even more football and Charlotte worked on perfecting her tackling.  She has been loving tackling Daddy and Papa recently but after watching so much football on Saturday she changed her tackle routine to include squatting over and putting her arms out behind her before running and tackling!  I tried to get video but wasn't very successful.  Let me just tell you that to see a little girl in pigtails and a cheerleader's uniform doing this is hilarious!

On Sunday morning after eating reheated Monkey Muffins we asked Charlotte if she wanted to watch Lady and the Tramp in our bed.  She jumped at the chance!  We have a Lady and the Tramp book but she hadn't seen the movie yet so we thought it would be a perfect time to do it.  We all got into bed and snuggled and watched the movie together.  It was so nice to get to spend some snuggle time just the three of us.  We weren't sure that Charlotte really recognized the movie from the book until Lady and Tramp got to the back of the Italian restaurant.  As soon as they brought out the spaghetti Charlotte started bouncing up and down saying, "They're going to kiss!"  At that point we realized that she really does know the story pretty well!

After Charlotte's nap we set out to try and recreate a sweet picture that I had seen on Pinterest.  I wanted a picture of me sitting next to Charlotte while Charlotte looked at her tummy as if she was wondering where the baby in her tummy was.  We had to bribe her with a strawberry newton just to get her to sit with me and never got the exact shot that I had originally hoped for but I love the ones we got just the same.

After the pictures Charlotte got to run an errand to Petsmart with Daddy which I'm pretty sure turned out to be the highlight of her weekend.  They saw lots of birds and fish and a guinea pig and kittens and even some snakes!  I'm not sure that Charlotte's favorite part of the whole experience was making up a new song with Daddy.  Sing along in a tune reminiscent of "The Farmer in the Dell."
It's raining really hard.
We have to go inside.
We have to use an umbrella
Or we might get wet!

We ran over to Memma and Papa's last night to help them get their new car seat all set up for Charlotte and ended up eating dinner with them.  I think Charlotte enjoyed some time being the one with the attention especially when Memma pulled out a new app on her iPad for her to play with!

This morning Charlotte and I made blueberry muffins and then we had fun playing around the house.  There was more tackling and some hide and seek playing along with a lot of Charlotte "getting our spot" when we got up which is one of her current favorite games.  Here she is getting Luca's spot!

She also spent some time dancing with Daddy!  She loved twirling around and as soon as he would put her down she would ask for more dancing.

It was a wonderful weekend spent celebrating the last days of being a family a three.  Hopefully Charlotte filled her little love tank full of hugs and kisses and snuggles from Mommy and Daddy that will make the transition to a family of four a little easier!  And I know that Mommy and Daddy filled up on hugs and kisses and snuggles in case our little girl is a little angry at us for bringing someone new into the house over the next few weeks!
