As for James' room, he still has one bare wall because we're waiting to fill it up with canvases from his newborn session next week. But we did fill up his door and the wall between his door and the bathroom door.
I searched high and low for a print or something to go on this wall and finally settled on this picture that I found on Etsy from digitalGingerArt. I'm very glad that I went with this one because of the rainbow in the background and the vivid colors. It looks great on the blue walls (even though they look green because of the light in this picture). Just continues the elephants that are a small part of his crib bedding.
And my parents gifted us with this previous elephant canvas for his door at home and at the hospital a few weeks ago. Our family friend who painted Charlotte's door sign a few years ago added James' name to one of her new line of artwork and I love having it to greet you when you come into his room and I know that it will be a big hit at the hospital!
Charlotte's room is now almost complete also! We finally took her crib down in mid-August and moved her desk into her room. I fell in love with a floor lamp from Pier 1 but couldn't bring myself to spend so much money on a lamp for a two year old's room so we instead went with the desk lamp version of it and I love the way the room ended up!
We're going to get a picture of Charlotte and James to go in the big frame and then hang it depending on what direction that picture is set in but other than that this area is pretty complete until Charlotte starts school and needs a desk chair.
We moved the smaller lamp over to her desk and the new lamp to next to her bed. Charlotte loves the flowers and the jewels that are on the lamp and I love the way it looks!
With their rooms complete and the downstairs set up with pack and plays, a swing, a rocker, and lots of other baby paraphernalia we are ready to add a real live baby to the mix!
You are such a talented decorator! I love both rooms so very much! I can't wait to read about baby James! Good luck with everything over the next few weeks.
ReplyDeleteLove it...and that lamp in Charlotte's room is BEAUTIFUL! She'll be using it for YEARS to come!
