Prayer Requests

Hi friends.  So far 2011 is shaping up to be one of those year's where I feel like I'm spending most of my time on my knees in prayer.  Other than our wonderful baby news it seems like we've be inundated with prayer requests from all sides.  I know that so many of you are faithful prayer warriors and because of that I want to share some of these with you and ask that you keep these requests in your prayers.  I appreciate the support that you always show me and I know that these people would really appreciate some additional prayer.

- I have a friend who had a baby 2 1/2 weeks ago and she is battling some high blood pressure problems that are not responding to medicine.  For those of you who are Mom's, you know how hard those first weeks are and she is having the added discomfort of feeling even more miserable because of this problem and so far the doctor's haven't been able to figure out why it's happening.  Please pray for an ease to the situation and that her health will return to normal quickly so that she can enjoy this time with her son.

- I have another friend whose Mom is starting a battle with cancer.  She started treatments a few weeks ago and is having to learn to adjust to this new pace of life.  Please pray for her as she shoulders through the horrible treatments and side effects and also for my friend that she can help her Mom in all the ways she needs without getting too overwrought herself.

- Charlotte came down with an ear infection (her second ever) the week of Christmas.  We got her on a round of antibiotics and the few symptoms that she had (being whiny and clingy) went away.  She did fine on the plane to/from Orlando so we assumed the antibiotics cleared it up.  We went back for her ear check three weeks later to find out that she still had it.  Apparently, she has been blessed with basically symptom free ear infections (next to no temp, very minimal (at least this time) ear pain, etc) and so we didn't think she still had one.  Our dr gave her another round of antibiotics.  We went back last week for another ear check and... she still has an ear infection.  Our dr said that at this point it's kind of turned in to "glue ear" where it's so sticky that any bacteria that gets in her immediately catches and reinfects.  So they've referred us to an ENT (thankfully a close family friend) and we go see him next Wednesday.  She got an antibiotic shot last Friday and is on another round of antibiotics right now.  We're hoping that the shot and this last round finally kills the infection but if not our pediatrician warned us that we might be looking at tubes.  She felt really cruddy last week and is feeling better this week but at this point we're #1 sick of her being sick and watching her feel pitiful, #2 frustrated that we're talking about tubes for her second(!) ear infection, and #3 scared about what tubes is going to entail.  So if you could please pray with us that this latest round of medicines clear's everything up we would appreciate it.  At this point she knows the word "medicine" and is a pro at taking it but it's sad seeing her feel puny for so long!  We're praying for a good appointment next week and I'll keep you posted.

Thank you so much for your prayers.  It's so precious to me to know that I have friends throughout the blogosphere who will pray for us when we need it.  Thanks for your support!
