Last year at Halloween we had a five month old little girl who couldn't even sit up by herself much less Trick or Treat. This year we have a 17 month old who still doesn't understand the Trick or Treat concept but was plenty excited to get outside with Caroline and run around. A few months ago I was looking for a costume for Charlotte and found a precious lamb costume. I thought it was perfect since Charlotte loves lamb's, knows what a lamb says, and is in the Lamb class at school. So I ordered it but without high hopes that she would wear all of the pieces (lamb body, hat with ears and bell, and hooves over her shoes) all night.
Do you see her little tail wagging back and forth? It was precious!
Before the hat went on. Still adorable!
Checking out the Jack-o-lantern
I'm pretty sure I'm going to see this look a lot during years 12-17 and I won't like it then, but in a lamb costume it's just cute!
C wanted to sit on the pumpkin. As first time parents, we couldn't say no!
Charlotte cried until we gave her some candy from our stash. She didn't want to eat it, just hold on to. I guess the shiny wrappers were too tempting! But before we went out she sat in the golf cart and "sorted" it!
Kelly, Tripp, and Caroline came over to go Trick or Treating with us! Caroline was the cutest Abby Cadabby around!
Checking each other (or each other's headpieces!) out.
We went by the pool first to see some neighbors but everyone was antsy to get to the Trick or Treating so we didn't stay long. Just long enough for C to eat half a piece of cheese pizza and nearly cause me to have a panic attack trying to keep pizza sauce off of her white costume!
Our first stop: Memma and Papa G's!
Caroline's knocking and C has no clue what's going on! She does LOVE her pumpkin bag though and is still carrying it around the house!
Memma giving C her first treats of the night!
Group picture! They are so much bigger than last year!
And our shot on the golf cart! It was a little more terrifying this year with two squiggly girls as opposed to one baby and one squiggly girl who was content to sit up front between the boys last year.
We continued around the neighborhood and went to about 10 houses. One of the neatest was a house that had a big scary blow-up castle set up on their front lawn over the sidewalk. I saw boys in there (who I assumed were going to jump out and scare us) and so I told them we had little kids and asked them if they wouldn't jump out. They were so sweet and came out and led us up to the front porch and gave us treat bags and then they sent balloons on glow stick necklaces down from the second story porch! It was a neat house!
We had a lot of fun and after trick or treating came back to the house to enjoy some Taco Soup and the Pioneer Woman's Flat Apple Pie. It's funny because when I read last year's post I realized we had an apple dessert last year too! To be honest, last year's was better than this years! We had a great time though and enjoyed getting to spend some time with our friends! Who knows what next year will be like with two that know what's going on!
CUTEST. COSTUME. EVER.
