At the beginning of 2010 I scheduled two sessions with Erin Cobb for the year. One for Charlotte's one year pictures and one for a Christmas card shoot/18 month shoot. We rescheduled the one year shoot in order to get C taking some wobbly steps but we were determined to get the shoot last week on our scheduled day. I wanted something outside in a different setting and after looking at some friend's engagement pictures I chose Mitchell Plantation in Belle Mina, Alabama. Erin was a trooper and agreed to drive a good distance to meet us there and I'm so glad she did because the location was beautiful and pretty close to exactly what I was looking for.
Erin is so sweet and I love her and her work so I was excited to get some wonderful shots of Charlotte in action now that she's running all over the place. We started out kind of slow and I was afraid that we might not get any smiles from C. But then the beginnings of a smile started to show up....
Once we made it around to the front yard Charlotte was all smiles and was running full speed ahead!
In hingsight we should have taken the pictures of Jason and I holding Charlotte first. We know from experience at football games that she's fine being held until she gets put down that first time and realizes that she can run around by herself and after that she doesn't want to be held any more. But I forgot that fact (sorry Erin!) and so after Charlotte had free reign of the location we then tried to pick her up for family and parent/child shots. Charlotte adamantly insisted that that was NOT GONNA HAPPEN! She wanted either to be running by herself or for Miss Erin to pick her up. Mommy and Daddy might as well have been chopped liver. So my hopes for a great family shot grew pretty dim but then these two shots showed up on the sneak peek and I got excited again!
I can't wait to see all of our pictures at our viewing session in a few weeks! Erin is THE BEST and I am so glad that we found her when we were looking for newborn photographers!
Just wanted to say you have a wonderful blog! My daughter Lucy is about the same age as Charlotte. I absolutely LOVE her dancing!!! I also love that you still have a place in your heart for your sorority (I was a Phi Mu).
