Water, Water, Everywhere!

Last Saturday we had the pleasure of visiting some family friend's at their lakehouse.  Talitha, Russell, Camille, and Kyle were so generous to host our entire family (Charlotte, Jason, and I along with Mom, Dad, and Charlie!) for the afternoon and evening.  It was Charlotte's first trip to the lake so it was an exciting day.  She even skipped her afternoon nap and was happy all day just because of how exciting it was!

The day started out with a fun new development... Charlotte got to turn around in the car! Since she weighed over 20 pounds at her doctor's visit on Friday we went ahead and turned her around to make the long-ish ride more bearable for everyone.  She loved turning around and kept squealing and saying "Hi!" on the way to the lake.  She also loved that she got to watch Praise Baby and How The Grinch Stole Christmas on the dvd player!

Once we got to the lake Jason and I went on a boat ride and then took a jet ski out while Charlotte hung out in the sand until we got back.  She loved filling up one bucket and then unfilling the bucket handful by handful!  Once we all got back and Charlotte had a snack we took Charlotte for her first boat ride!

She loved the boat! Loved feeling the wind in her face and watching the birds.  She loved seeing the balls on the power lines too (that's what she's pointing to and looking at in the close ups).  She started getting a little fussy about halfway through though.  Not because of the boat but because she was tired of her life jacket.  So Mr. Russell took her and let her drive.  I LOVE the picture of her driving and smiling.  She got the biggest kick out of it!  When she was antsy Mom, Dad, and Jason all tried to take her but she wouldn't leave me to go to any of them.  But when Mr. Russell held out his arms she gladly went right into them!

After the boat ride we played inside and "rested" for a little while.  Actually, I rested while Charlotte walked all over the house exploring.  Then we went to watch the guys play shuffleboard and to play with the bubbles!

After the games ended we enjoyed a wonderful meal and then we headed home early to get Charlotte into a bath and then into bed.  Everyone insisted that she would fall asleep on the way home because she had been going all day.  But she didn't! She enjoyed looking out the windows, watching more Praise Baby, and playing Peek-a-Boo.

We had a wonderful day and are so thankful for such sweet friends to let us come hang out with them!
