Kelly and Tripp were letting Caroline spend some time with her grandparents and so were kidless on Sunday so we decided to take advantage of Charlotte's grandparents and make a night out. We had no plans other than to meet around 6 and then go eat dinner. We had thrown around the idea of bowling but weren't sold on it yet. So we went to the upscale, fine dining establishment of The Olive Garden. The food was good and so was the company but the location leaves a little to be desired in our town!
Once we finished dinner we decided that we were, indeed, going to bowl. None of us had bowled since we went bowling together BEFORE Kelly was pregnant, i.e. THREE years ago. We've had two babies since then along with a lot of sleepless nights but we were still determined to take a shot at it. Thankfully the bowling alley wasn't very crowded and we only made fools of ourselves in front of each other, but we did have fun! The first game Jason and I barely edged out over Kelly and Tripp which (I think) was pretty bitter for them since I only scored a 46 (yeah, I'm that bad!). The second game though Kelly and Tripp both bowled the games of their lives and while I scored around a 75 we were no match for them.
I am so thankful that we have friends that we can hang out with and do any random thing and have so much fun! Next time we want to be competitive though I think we should stick to the board game Puerto Rico since I'm still a little sore from all the bowling! :)
You care barely see her but there's a little girl in the background with her arms in the air after a good bowl. The saddest thing is that her score was better than mine in both games and better than Kelly's in one game!
And as a sidenote, no, we didn't plan to all dress in similar colors. The guys tend to do that A LOT, but this was just a coincidence. Funny story, right after we met Kelly and Tripp the guys got together to play golf and then Kelly and I met them to eat Mexican. We both laughed when we saw them because they both had on kaki shorts, red Under Armour shirts, and navy hats on!
