Super Saturday

Whew! It feels good to sit down!  Today I took advantage of Jason being home all day and we got to work.  Our room has now been cleaned from top to bottom in advance of #1 - taking out the old run and putting in the new one and #2 - bringing Charlotte home.  I set up a little corner for Charlotte and I in our room with a rocker that, I've heard, was originally my great-grandmother's.  I've just got to make a tablecloth for this cabinet that I'm going to use as a side table and then I'll post a picture!

I also worked in Charlotte's room today.  I set up a drawer full of sleepers, a drawer full of 0-3 month clothes, and a drawer full of 3-6 month clothes.  That way I'll be able to take a better stock of what we still need to get after our sohwer's.  I also separated out the different sizes of diapers that we have.  Does anyone want to tell me how many diapers in each size we should buy to start with?  We've been trying to buy in advance so that the cost will be spread out longer but I'm not sure how many of the smaller sizes (like newborn) I need.

I'm about to go and get ready for a party for one of Jason's friends that we have tonight.  I'm excited because yesterday I found two new dresses that I really like!  So now I have a new dress for my shower next weekend and an Easter dress too!  Have a good night!

  1. Jen- You may not need any newborn at all...maybe one package. They give all the babies size 1 in the hospital and you can usually to straight to these unless you have a little baby.

  2. I wouldn't buy any newborn size diapers. Camden couldn't even wear them, but he weighed 9 lbs 1 oz. They give you plenty of diapers in the hospital and send a bunch home with you, too. I had a ton of diapers in all sizes from showers so I didn't buy any before hand. Camden grew so fast that he out grew size 1 & size 2 before he used up all of those sizes. I would stock up on size 3s. They stay in that size for a long time. Also, check out some of the blogs on my sidebar; they offer a lot of advice about saving money on diapers. There are a lot of printable coupons available right now, and also samples you can get. Remember to only open one package at a time because you can swap unopened diapers for different sizes. You might also want to wait and see what dipaers you like the best. All my friends swear by Pampers, but Camden's tummy was so fat that the Pampers didn't fit him right and leaked. So we use only Huggies. You can buy Pampers and Huggies at Costco and Sam's and it is the best price unless you find a really good deal with coupons and/or registe rewards at Walgreen's, CVS, or Rite-Aid. I definitely think it is worth the money to use premium diapers. I have tried several of the house brands (publix, target, walmart) and hated them. They may be cheaper per diaper, but you have to use a lot more so you don't really save money. I hope my advice helps.
