Little Lang's

Today I'm excited to introduce you to one of my friends and sorority sister.  She has a new kids clothing line that I'm in love with!  Jana started Little Lang's in the Fall of 2012 and has received a great response to her adorable outfits for girls and boys.  I sent her some questions so that you could learn a little more about her and her awesome line.

*********

What made you want to start Little Lang's?
I started Little Langs after I realized my love for sewing and putting fabrics and designs together.  I started making my kids clothes and others started asking me to make for them!   I work part time but realized THIS is what I enjoy and love--and life is too short to spend your whole life doing something you don't enjoy!  I got over my fear factor and went for it.  What do I have to lose?

What are you most proud of about the line?
I am most proud of how far we have come in 5 months!  We have launched 2 lines, winter and spring/summer as well as recently paired up with an incredible manufacturer and will be featured on ZULILY three times this month!  It's been incredible.

What are you favorite pieces for a boy?
I love the Madras appliqué shirts as well as our Little Lang's Classic with our logo.  It's simple, cute, age appropriate- and they feel like Dad, yet the handprint reminds us they are still our little boy.

What about your favorite pieces for a girl?
For girls---that's hard!  Bubbles are always adorable but I love our Seersucker Cupcake/Capri set.  It just doesn't get much cuter!

What's your goal for Little Lang's?
My short term goal is to continue to increase my reach to other areas and demographics.  Long term, I'd like to grow the business enough to be able to quit my day job and focus on this!

What are some opportunities for others to support you and get involved?
For those who like our clothing, my hope is that they share with others! We hope to grow and pride ourselves on our quality products and excellent customer service.  If someone would like to host a Little Lang's trunk show, they can contact me (jana (at) littlelangs (dot) com).

You can catch up with Jana on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.  And, of course, check out her adorable Little Lang's website!

And like Jana mentioned, she's going to be on ZULILY multiple times this month! Her first sale starts this Sunday, May 19th so don't miss it! You can get some wonderful pieces at a discounted price but remember, supplies are limited!!

As an extra bonus, Jana is excited to offer Tales of a Peanut readers a sale on her Perfect for Play line that is selling like hotcakes!  She's offering readers boy shirts and girly fit shirts for $19 and $3 off ALL bloomer sets, cotton dresses, and onesies.  Just mention that you saw about Little Lang's in the "Message" area of the order form.  Jana will send you a modified invoice for your shirts when she processes your order.

And one more way to get a deal on Little Lang's merchandise is to check out the inventory sale on the Little Lang's facebook page.  Jana has listed items that she has in sizes available (nothing custom ordered) and if you can find one in your child's size you'll get a bargain!

Thanks Jana for sharing Little Lang's with us today!  I can't wait to see your Fall line and get my kids into some more Little Lang's clothes!

*This post falls under my link/reviews disclaimers and I wasn't compensated in any way for this post.  I just wanted to share about my friend's awesome business!

Toys for Summer Play

If you're like me, your house is overflowing with plastic toys that break or get eaten by the dog all too regularly.  I have found that most of the time, well made, wooden toys keep my kids entertained far longer than average set of toys.  Which is why I was so excited to see that One Kings Lane has a sale today called The Toy Shop.

Starting at 10 am CST on May 8th, The Toy Chest Sale from One Kings Lane, is featuring quality toys meant to inspire imagination and learning in our kids.  I'm especially interested in the Turtle Shape Sorter, it looks like it would be perfect to work on James' hand/eye coordination and both of my kids are all about animals!

I'm thinking about getting rid of some of the least used toys that we have and replacing them with a few quality toys that will help them learn and get us thinking this summer!

And the beauty of shopping at One King's Lane is that all of their products are up to 70% off of retail prices so you're saving a lot!

You can find the Calendar of Events on their page which shows you which sales are upcoming and gives you a preview of the items in each sale.  Sales are only for a limited time (typically 3 days only) so check back often!

Baby Penelope

Last week I posted some "Infant Must Haves" for things that I had to have before James was born.  One of the owners of one of the Etsy shops that I mentioned, Baby Penelope, saw a jump in her traffic after my post and emailed me to offer me a discount code for my readers.  I wanted to pass along the discount to you in case you're in the market for a diaper holder like I got for James or for anything else that they sell!

You can use code SAVE20OFF to get 20% off of your purchase from now until September 18th.  Baby Penelope also has a facebook page where they sometimes announce sales that aren't listed elsewhere.

Happy Shopping!

What Women Fear

Over three years ago I started reading Angie Smith's blog, Bring the Rain.  Her honesty and her struggle through the pain of losing her daughter Audrey made her so real to me immediately and I have been following her ever sense.  Despite the sad subject nature of her first book, I Will Carry You, I enjoyed reading every word of it and I can honestly say that her story and her words have helped me draw closer to God over the years.

This morning I woke up and checked my reader and had a handful of posts about Angie's new book, What Women Fear.  Fear is definitely something that I struggle with as a Mom and so I've been looking forward to reading Angie's new book when it came out.  TODAY ONLY Barnes and Noble is running a pre-sale on Angie's new book that releases next Thursday, September 1 and you can get her book for 50%!  I just ordered mine and wanted to share this discount information with you in case you are wanting to get the book also.  I'm sure that it will be just as wonderful as her first book and her blog.

Barnes and Noble has really supported Angie both for I Will Carry You as well as with What Women Fear and are doing an exciting one day online pre-sale today, Monday, August 22. If you pre-order a copy today at Barnesandnoble.com/WhatWomenFear you will get 50% off, so the book is only $7.49. In addition, if you order the book today at Barnes and Noble online, email your order confirmation to whatwomenfear@gmail.com to be entered to win one of two prize packs of 10 books from B&H Women as well as a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card.

*Note: This post is non-compensated in any way I just wanted to share a great deal about something that I believe in and am looking forward to reading with you.

Adrienne

I have been reading Adrienne's blog ever since I got into blog world and her story has captivated me. She and her husband have struggled to have children and have had multiple miscarriages, the last one as recent as January. They adopted a beautiful little boy, Owen, from Russia, and in the past year have had multiple miscarriages and now two failed local adoptions. Through it all Adrienne has kept her faith that God is moving them in His will and has been such an inspiration to me. Today Adrienne announced that they will be adopting a little girl from South Korea!

As I'm sure you can imagine, domestic adoptions are expensive and international adoptions are even more so. So Adrienne and Jim are trying to raise money so that they can bring their little girl home. Adrienne will be hosting a big giveaway with some great prizes like a Canon Rebel and Wii soon and I will let you know when that is in case you want to enter to win. She is also hosting a gold party at her home in Tennessee next weekend in case you want to help her out there. You could send her any gold that you have and either let her keep the profits or have her send the profits back to you. The gemologist will be giving them a percentage of what's collected that night so even if you just sent her the gold and had her send all of the profits back to you you would still be helping.

But I mostly wanted to let you know about the discount you will get at AllyZabba that will help Adrienne and Jim. They have beautiful blankets and if you use the coupon code "lily" you will receive 10% off of your order. The best part is that AllyZabba will donate 30% of your order to Adrienne and Jim's fund!

I just wanted to let you know about this incredible family so that you can pray for them and for their little girl waiting in an orphanage in South Korea.

Online Shopping

Now some people get all scared when someone mentions shopping online. They worry about things like:
How will I know if it will fit if I buy online? What if the color in the picture isn't accurate? Can I trust this store that I'm buying from to send me the right thing? Can I get this here in time for the event next Tuesday? Could someone steal my identity?

And these are all valid concerns. But I'd like to propose that online shopping isn't really about finding the must have's that everyone depends on. There's no way I'm going to buy a dress online for an event that I must have the perfect dress for. I mean, that's leaving things way to far up to chance for a person likes me who likes to know the answer to everything before the questions asked!

But online shopping provides people, like me, who love the idea of shopping but don't get the opportunity to go shopping that often a whole new venue! There's less chance that I'm going to leave with a splurge purchase that I'm not supposed to if I have to type in all personal information from the last 10 years just to get through the checkout. So in honor of my love of online window shopping, here are some things that I've found recently that are to die for!

Enclosure Cards at Razzle Dazzle Designs

"E" painting on Kim's website (ok, she did it for her little girl but it could be our last name also!)

I think Luca needs this don't you?!?!

Tucked in Bed at Fetch Dog

Getting in the holiday spirit I love these reindeer from Grandin Road!

This bedding in Slate Blue from Williams Sonoma Home

My Agenda (or anything else!) from See Jane Work

Ok, so now that you've seen the things that I'd had my eye on lately tell me what you're loving online! I always love new websites so let me know where you love to browse!
