Sneak Peek

Last week we had a family photo session with our friend Mrs. Erin.  Charlotte wouldn't quit talking the entire time, but James was comfortable in his sweet spot of making us all sweat trying to get a smile.  Typically he hasn't wanted to be put down in previous sessions, but in this one he didn't want to be picked up....or go inside.  Thankfully Mrs. Erin always has tricks up her sleeve and we weren't above bribing with marshmallows!  And it sure worked because Mrs. Erin got these stunners....can't wait to see the rest in a few weeks!

All photo's are copyright by Erin Cobb and used with her permission.  You can see her blog post with these pictures here.

Born to be a model

Our friend Erin came on Monday to take James' newborn pictures.  As always, she did a fantastic job and we can't wait to go see all of our pictures in a few weeks!

Two Year Old Portraits

When I got pregnant with Charlotte one of the first people that I called was Erin Cobb.  I had seen photo's that she had taken of friends and fell in love with her fresh style of photography.  I knew that I wanted her to shoot our newborn pictures at our home after Charlotte was born.  She came in and made this new mom look pretty good and made Charlotte look like a complete angel (which wasn't a huge stretch, but her pictures were stunning!).

We have continued to use Erin over the past two years and were excited to meet up again for Charlotte's two year portraits a few weeks ago.  We still haven't seen the full session proofs since Erin's been out of town, but have our appointment on June 6th and are waiting on pins and needles to see, what I'm sure will be, another spectacular collection!

These are the sneak peek images that Erin posted and they are fantastic!  Charlotte took to Erin quickly as soon as we got there and didn't even want to come back to us after she had spent some time hanging out with Miss Erin.  Even now, weeks later, she still takes about Miss Erin taking her picture!  They are fast friends!

See?  Erin and my daughter -- big buddies!  She wouldn't take pictures with Jason and I but posed perfectly for a picture with Erin! :)

If you are near the area where Erin shoots or are in a location where she travels to (which happens a lot these days!) you've got to check her out!  I am so glad that we've found her and would like to think that now we're even friends.  She will definitely be shooting James' newborn session in September and many, many more sessions in the years to come!

Our Wall Gallery

Back at the beginning of June we had Charlotte's one year portraits taken.  When we were trying to decide what prints we wanted to buy from our session we decided that we would like to do a canvas wall gallery on this wall in our breakfast area/kitchen/keeping room that is really big and blank that we can't come up with something to put on it.  So we worked with Erin to create a gallery that we love.  We wanted something that was asymmetrical in an engineer-like symmetrical way.  We also wanted something that we could change canvases out for future sessions.  This is what we came up with and I have to say that it looks ten thousand times better in person than it does on here.  I think Erin's going to come at some point and take pictures of it for her wall gallery collection so those pictures will be much better, but this was just a few quick shots so that you can see it.

If you are thinking about doing a wall gallery in your home I would definitely recommend that you do it.  Every single person that has walked in our house since it went up immediately goes to it and talks about how beautiful it is.  It helps that Erin is a fantastic photographer but the effect of those huge (the large square is 30"x30") canvases on the wall is wonderful!
