Winnie the Pooh

When Jason and I saw the preview for the new Winnie the Pooh movie on tv we knew that we wanted to take Charlotte to see it.  We decided that the best time to see it would be the early evening movie so that we could go out to eat afterwards and Jason could meet us from work.  When I got Charlotte up from her nap that day and told her that we were going to the movies she was so excited! Her excitement only got higher as we got to the theater!

After getting our tickets our first stop was for popcorn!  Charlotte had heard about popcorn on an episode of Mickey but had never had it before so we were excited to introduce her to something else new as well as the movie.  Let's just say that she was a big fan and the popcorn had to "become empty" because otherwise Charlotte would have kept eating it until the bag was gone!

Charlotte was too excited to sit for long before the movie started and just wanted to stand up in front of her seat.  She loved looking around the theater and pointing out all the different colored lights that she saw.  She did great keeping (relatively) quiet and as the theater filled up and the previews began she calmed down to enjoy the movie.

She sat in my lap for most of the movie.  It was louder than she expected and she did comment on that.  But she always intently watched the movie and we've seen since then that she totally understood the story line as she's talked about that Winnie the Pooh couldn't find Christopher Robin.  The movie was very short which was nice and, for the most part, not scary.  The day after the movie she did say something to me about the "Backson" which made me believe that he kind of scared her but after I explained that he was make believe she never said anything else about him.

We made a night of it and went to Red Robin after the movie.  Charlotte had fun there coloring with Daddy!

It was a very fun night and we're very glad that we got to make those memories together!
