A totally different world

I remember my first memory with a computer was in "Writing to Read" in elementary school.  We had a whole computer lab and we got to go and type up books that printed on the paper that you had to tear the edges off of and then we would illustrate our books.  By the time I was in later elementary school we had one or two computers in our classrooms but they were only for special projects and didn't have the internet on them or anything.  We got our first computer at home around (I think) 6th grade and I wish I had the picture from that Christmas morning on the computer because it has Charlie and I standing next to probably four or five HUGE cow Gateway boxes!

Compared to some friends, my computer experience started at a very early age.  But it is so funny to see how early Charlotte has grasped all things computer!  She can unlock our phones in a flash and thinks everything should scroll when she moves her finger like the photo albums on our phones do.  And recently she's taken to trying to get on the computer or, if the computer is open on the desk, climbing into the chair and touching the keys trying to "call Memma Papa" (via facetime).  She found her little toy computer a few weeks ago and since then has been carrying it around the house and "working" on it.  She loves the most to climb up to the desk and work on her computer there!

I can't wait to see the advances that technology makes between now and when Charlotte goes to school and what she'll choose to study.  With such an exposure to computers at such an early age, she'll probably surpass my knowledge long before she gets to college!
