We had quite a battle of will's on our way to recital rehearsal (Charlotte wouldn't take off her Minnie Mouse "jammies" and I wasn't letting her go in her pj's) but eventually I won by threatening to go without her (I was going to, it wasn't an empty threat! Papa was on his way over!) and we got to recital. Charlotte watched mesmerized as the older girls practiced the opening number and then was even more enthralled when Abby's group came out in their pink, sparkly outfits and danced their number.
Charlotte came home talking all about dancing like Abby and I'm pretty sure at this point she would start dance this fall if they offered classes for her age! Alas, she'll have to wait one more year before her dance career officially begins! But luckily, her Aunt Candy came through for her and surprised her with a REAL ballet outfit for her birthday. We had some play tutu's but didn't have a leotard much less a real tutu to go with it and REAL ballet shoes. You would think someone had given Charlotte the moon -- or a bag full of cookies!

Dancing around like Abby
More dancing!
Charlotte was (and still is!) so excited about her ballerina costume. She loves putting on her ballet shoes and her leotard. I went and got her some more leotard's because she has to wear them for gymnastics this summer and she loves those also. I'm pretty sure she'd want to wear a leotard and her ballet slippers every day if I would let her!
It's a very big day when a little girl gets her first real ballerina outfit! This little girl couldn't have been more excited! I can't wait to see how she loves dance next year!
