Birthday morning

We had big plans for Charlotte's birthday starting with a fun morning at home for the three of us.  Jason and I woke Charlotte up with a playing of the traditional Mickey Mouse "Splashdance" song which woke Charlie and I up on our birthday morning's for our entire life.  Charlotte seemed to enjoy it even if she was a little confused at first.  She also got a little disappointed when the song got to the part saying that Mickey and Donald were here to wish her a happy birthday and they didn't show up in her room...uh oh!  But she got over that quickly!

She picked her birthday cake dress to wear and we headed downstairs for presents.  Jason and I set out her presents the night before.  We were so excited about her presents this year.  So excited in fact that Jason had to try out one of them when he was setting them up before Charlotte even got to play with them!

Charlotte was excited too when she saw everything!

She immediately took all of my old necklaces and bracelets off of the dress form jewelry holder that we got her for her new room and put most of it on!  She walked around with her arms held up for the rest of the morning so that none of her bracelets would fall off of her arm!

After opening her presents she managed to stop long enough for a reading of one of her new books!

And then it was cinnamon roll time while she learned how to play her new music player

Then it was outside to play with her outdoor toys!

Memma and Papa even stopped by on their way to church to drop off one of Charlotte's presents for them...a slide!

We got a picture at 9:30 AM (her birth time) as per tradition.  She's come a long way in two years!

After outside play it was time for lunch so we served up some of her favorites -- mac mac cheese and banana -- on her new picnic table on the back porch!  It was even served on her new birthday plate!

Plate was made by PaperDoll Designs just like her first birthday plate!

After lunch it was finally nap time, which was good since Mommy and Daddy were tired out from our fun morning!  We had such a great time playing together as a family and celebrating Charlotte just the three of us.  We also had to get ready for her big birthday party that afternoon!
