All the colors of the rainbow

Charlotte is currently all about coloring.  She loves sitting (or standing) at her coloring table and coloring or just pointing out the things that we've colored already.  Her favorite things to ask people to color are Elmo's and kitty cat's ("meow meow's") with bunny's made from the letter B's, bows, and fish being right behind.  She mostly just scribbles but occasionally tries to move her hand in an arc to try and make a C.

Her new love of crayons might have even finally allowed her to learn her first color -- purple!  She will correctly pick up a purple crayon if you ask her for it about 90% of the time and in the picture above I had asked her to show me the purple crayon and she was correctly holding up the right now.  She will also sometimes point to something colored in purple and say purple.  And the only crayon's that she will draw with are the skinny purple one's.  She'll pick up the other colors to play with but there is no coloring with those.  Jason and I were discussing last night how upset she got when I tried to offer her one of the fat purple ones and how her transition to kindergarten where she has to use the fat crayons might not be pretty.  We'll hope she's over it by then!

It is neat to watch her progression as she gets older.  We're trying to compile a list of words that she knows and it grows every day!  She can repeat almost anything that you say now (except "I love you", of course) but is starting to learn the meaning of words and using them correctly which is amazing.  One example, is that she will say "Watch" when she wants to watch you do something like brush your teeth or cook but she also knows and will verbally say "Watch" when she see's one on your arm!  It's amazing what these little brains can do!  It's so much fun watching her learn!
