We woke up to see that the Easter Bunny had come to our house!
Charlotte was much more involved with playing with her gifts than at Christmas so that was fun!
She wanted her Daddy to try on her new sunglasses.
Being a good Daddy he obliged!
Then she tried them on!
She even got in a little quite time with her new Bible before we left for church!
Charlotte enjoyed a traditional Easter breakfast of puffs and mini pancakes! She didn't get her dress dirty at all even though her Daddy was pretty worried about that!
We took a picture before breakfast in case she did get her dress dirty!
After breakfast we found that we were early (imagine that!) and so we drove down to my parents next door neighbors to take pictures in front of their BEAUTIFUL dogwoods. We needed photographers so my parents met us there to take a picture of the three of us.
This is my new favorite picture!
And we got one with Memma and Papa G too!
We went to church and left Charlotte in the nursery. She didn't cry when we left her which we took to be a good sign and we didn't get called out of the service like last time so that was great! We enjoyed a wonderful service and were so pleased to get back to Charlotte's class and see her happily playing on the floor with the other children. That quickly changed though when she saw us. She had a meltdown until I could get to her to pick her up! I guess she just remembered that we had left her! Once I was holding her she quieted down and was in a pretty good mood for being almost an hour into what's supposed to be her nap time. So we chanced it and went to meet my Dad's family for lunch. I don't have any pictures because we had to work hard to keep Charlotte occupied so that she wouldn't remember that she was tired. We did manage to enjoy lunch though and had a good time seeing that side of the family.
This Easter was so wonderful. We loved getting to share this special day with our daughter for the first time. Seeing Charlotte all dressed up in her Easter finest was so much fun. I can't wait until she can really grasp the significance of the day. I pray that we will be able to convey the true meaning of Easter to her at an early age.
Thank you Jesus for dying for us so that we may live with you forever. We are so amazed that you rose from the dead to pay the price for our sins. Thank you!
Mat and I bought that Jesus Storybook Bible for our niece, Ellie Parker. So many parents buy it for their children here at seminary. It's such a great Bible for kids!
